Queens of the Stone Age "Little Sister" guitar lesson. The next Riff of the Day uses the powerful Hoof Reaper from Earthquaker Devices for the fuzz rhythm and the octave fuzz lead. "Little Sister" is in standard tuning unlike most QOTSA tunes although the tone is still on the darker side due to Josh Homme's penchant for power chords up high on the neck. The main riff uses a simple C#,G#,E,G# pattern but the first G# includes a lower 5th to vary the sound and match the bassline. The chorus uses a power chord riff where the 5th is lifted on and off which matches the double time, punk feel of the song. Finally, the familiar upper octave riff simply slides up and down a full step on 3 strings; B, G, and D. Enjoy your Riff of the Day guitar lesson!
