This Fender Custom Shop Merle Haggard Signature Telecaster features a laminated figured maple top with a 2-color sunburst finish. It has alder wings with tone chambers and a maple center block, so you can expect some semi-hollow warmth without any feedback. The C shaped figured maple neck features 22 medium jumbo frets, figured maple fretboard, dot inlays and a 7.5" radius. There's a Texas Special Single-Coil Strat pickup in the bridge and a Texas Special Single-Coil Tele pickup in the neck. The 6-saddle American Series Strings-Thru-Body Strat bridge makes changing strings a breeze. Other great features include a bone nut, ivoroid body binding and barrel style switch tips.

Merle Haggard doesn't take his Teles lightly. If you're looking for a Telecaster that is miles ahead of the pack, this one needs to be on your radar.

Note: The serial number of this guitar dates to 2011, but the certificate of authenticity dates to 2013. It is a 2013 guitar. Fender's Custom Shop makes parts at different times, and our guess is the neck was built earlier than the rest of the guitar.
