Hey, it's Andy with ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com and today we're digging into the PDF-2 Parametric Distortion Filter from Stone Deaf FX. The PDF-2 is the ultimate tool for your pedalboard, offering an incredibly articulate boost with a wealth of options. The core of the PDF-2 is the Bandwidth control, which lets you select the width of the frequency filter, while the other controls operate within the selected width. Once you pick the desired Bandwidth setting, you can adjust the amount of boost with the Height knob, and the center frequency of the filter with the Freq control for everything from crystal-clear boost to cocked wah tones. The PDF-2 adds an extra footswitch for toggling between Clean and Dirty modes. Dirty mode adds in a distortion circuit that imparts a little crunch to the PDF-2, and you can now dial in the amount of grit with the new Gain knob, which is perfect for players needing only a touch of dirt. An expression jack on the back works with Stone Deaf's EP-1 expression pedal, and overrides the Freq control. This allows you to vary the center frequency of the filter, much like a wah pedal. The PDF-2 is one of the best stacking pedals in the business, and will transform literally any dirt pedal in its path into a full-on rock 'n' roll machine. When run either before or after, the PDF-2 gives your favorite dirt pedals a makeover, bringing out more of what you like across all dirt types. And if that's not all, each Stone Deaf pedal is hand-made in jolly old England.
