The Zutons were catapulted to global fame after Amy Winehouse covered their hit ‘Valerie’, but the Liverpudlians have had a rollercoaster ride of a career. Breaking onto the scene with their Mercury Prize nominated debut ‘Who Killed...... The Zutons?’ in 2004, the band battled through a dark period of drug and drink abuse before reuniting to record an album at Abbey Road Studios with Nile Rodgers and Ian Broudie.
Frontman Dave McCabe sits down with Rotosound to tell of how reconnecting with the guitar got him through the hard times, what it's like being back on the road, and what got him into playing in the first place. Dave shows us his favourite guitar and discusses his Rotosound guitar strings, which he calls his “faithful servants”.
Dave plays Roto Yellows, Roto Blues, and Nexus Acoustic guitar strings.
