ProGuitarShop is pleased to introduce the Carcosa fuzz, from DOD. The conclusion of a cross-country vintage fuzz quest, the Carcosa has its roots in the fuzz boom of the '70s, when silicon dethroned germanium. Like other fuzzes of that time, the Carcosa has an exaggerated midrange and treble profile that slices through the mix like a hatchet, while retaining superior note definition with chords. Two modes define the Carcosa: Hali and Demhe. Hali mode exhibits a lighter fuzz tone for already-dirty amps, tightening up the lows and stregthening the highs to make its presence felt. Demhe mode adds some punch fo a clean amp, adding a fat dose of low-mids that beefs up any signal, in addition to a complex harmonic character. The Before and After controls work in tandem across both modes to deliver an extremely broad palette of fuzz tones, from AM-radio lo-fi crunch to brawny, Bruce Banner-approved fuzz mayhem. Adjusting these knobs in opposite directions brings out more experimental fuzz tones for the adventurous fuzz seeker. A handy Hi-Cut control helps adjust the Carcosa to match any pickup and amp combination under the sun, and unlike many fuzzes, the Carcosa has a ton of output on tap and can drive even the highest headroom amps with ease.
