Welcome to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we're realizing the potential of the Sonder, the first modulation pedal from Wren and Cuff. The Sonder combines both analog tremolo and chorus for a tasteful dose of modulation. Each side can be used separately or together for some interesting textural work, and is simple enough to plug and play without having to program anything. The tremolo side features a deep throb across separate square and sine waveforms that you can change on the fly by pressing and holding the tap footswitch for five seconds. Individual taps to the same switch function as a tap tempo for the trem side, which overrides the speed set by the Rate knob. A handy Mix control lets you dial in just the right amount of throb, from subtle movement to gut-wrenching pulses. The trem signal feeds directly into the chorus side with its own set of Rate and Mix controls. The chorus is a classic bucket-brigade-powered The Mix controls on both sides serve as the bypass function for each effect. By rolling the Mix controls all the way back, the respective side enters a buffered bypass mode that sidesteps the effect entirely. The Volume/Boost knob functions as a recovery stage for the entire circuit, counteracting any perceived volume loss experienced by the chorus and trem tag-team. The Sonder is built to the same exacting standards as the rest of Wren and Cuff's pedals, and each are made right here in the States.
