The Samson Expedition 308i Portable PA System delivers great sound quality yet is lightweight and easy to set up and operate. It includes two 2-way speakers with custom 8" woofers and a 1" tweeter in a custom horn. They produce a wide dynamic range of clear, loud, full-range audio that can fill up a small to sized venue with relative ease. They can be mounted on standard speaker stands, thanks to the integral pole mount receptacles. The XP308i is constructed using durable ABS, high impact plastic.
The Expedition 308i is powered by a full-featured 8 channel powered mixer. It stores easy into the rear of one of the speakers and can be removed and placed on a tabletop. It delivers 300 watts (2 x 150) and is a perfect match for the speakers. Its class D design provides plenty of power yet it is light in weight.
The mixer's first four channels feature 4 XLR microphone inputs, as well as 4 mono ¼" jacks. Switchable phantom power is provided enabling the use of your condenser mics. Channels 5 through 8 feature ¼" stereo input jacks as well as a set of RCA connectors. Each channel has high (HF) and low (LF) EQ enabling you to the tone to your liking. Rotary faders on each channel make it easy to adjust volume levels on the fly. There's a built-in high quality reverb for use on channels 1-4. It's switchable for each of the 4 channels.
Additional features include L/R monitor output jacks with a dedicated level control, independent of the master volume control. You can send out a signal to a powered stage monitor or house mixing board. A stereo pair of RCA jacks allows you to connect to a recording device such as an iPod, handheld recorder or laptop. There are a pair of ¼" speaker output jacks that easily connect right to the back of the speakers (cables included).There is a built-in iPod dock on the top panel of the mixer. It's compatible with most of the latest iPod models and enables you to easily play pre-recorded music through the system. For metering, a six-segment bar meter shows the XP308i's output level, easily readable even in dim-lit situations.
