The latest offerings from Lowden have now arrived and we're not even sure where to start with these gorgeous guitars! Exceptionally well-made and unbelievable to look at, Lowden's first venture into electric guitar building are some truly special models. Incredibly stylish thanks to some fantastic choices of timber and materials, the GL-10 range are everything we'd ever wanted from a Lowden Electric - true to the feel and vibe of the acoustics that we already know and love, but with their own unique character and voice.
While they blew our expectations out of the water on looks alone, it was when the guys in store plugged these in that the eyes really began to light up. Their Lollar Imperial Humbuckers offer a gorgeous, creamy thickness with just the right amount of bite and attack to allow every note to shine through clearly while maintaining its bottom end. There are some gloriously beautiful overtones to be conjured up and they really are captivating guitars to play. For comparison, these were inspired by Lowdens S model and the GL-10s are a similar shape and feel, despite being obviously much thinner and sleeker. With options for Koa, Walnut or Tasmanian Blackwood available, these models represent Lowden's finest craftsmanship an the quality is clear as soon as you get one in your hands.
The type of models that simply take your breath away as soon as you play them, we really can't get enough of these guitars. Exemplary in terms of build-quality, style and tone, these have very quickly found a place close to our hearts and we'll genuinely be sad to see them go! The GL-10's really are the type of guitars that you have to play, hear and see to believe and we'd really recommend paying us a visit to try them out.
