Welcome back to ProGuitarShop.com, today we're taking another look at an overdrive that's quickly becoming an industry favorite, the Archer from J. Rockett Audio Designs. The Archer is faithful to the original, un-modded Centaur circuit, the one we all fell in love with. Thanks to the voltage conversion in this pedal from 9 to 18, you can use the Archer purely as a high headroom clean boost with the volume up and drive down. This method maintains your rig's pure tone or gives your preamp a hotter signal to produce natural tube overdrive and maximum touch sensitivity. The Archer also has a unique gain circuit that incorporates a clean signal into the mix at lower settings, allowing complex rhythm tones that maintain note definition and clarity with chords. Cranked up, the Archer has a midrange bite and subtle compression that helps you be heard in the mix. Plus, original high quality buffer has been preserved which makes the Archer an important tool for tone preservation.
