This is El Gordo, from PureSalem Guitars, a guitar that combines a svelte, classic appearance with modern playability and raw, old-school tones. A semi-hollow, bound mahogany body is the centerpiece of this instrument's abundant acoustic resonance, and it features a solid center block for greater control over musical feedback in high volume situations. Pickups include a robustly voiced, custom wound humbucker in the bridge position, complemented perfectly by an offset, Tele-style neck pickup that blends warmth and clarity in equal measure. The Gordo's 24 and three quarter inch scale length and modern C shape, bolt-on maple neck lend it a fluid, easy playability that traverses the entirety of its 12-inch radius rosewood fretboard and 22 medium jumbo frets. The hardware complement includes Grover tuners, a Bigbsy B5 vibrato with roller bridge (for improved tuning stability), and a 3-way pickup selector switch with dual volume and tone knobs.
