Being a YouTuber can be difficult, but when you're a female it can be made even harder. Sexism is a thing and there are not many prominent female guitar-oriented YouTubers.
In this interview from GuitCon 2017, I sit down with the incomparable Kianna Sommerfeld of The Adventures of Guitar Girl. Getting her start by helping the crazy Henning Pauly and being his guitar student, Kianna has parlayed this into a growing YouTube channel geared towards the beginning guitarist.
We discuss getting started, overcoming shyness, and what it's like being a young female guitarist on YouTube these days.
