Welcome to ProGuitarShop and ToneReport.com. Today we're sipping on the Hot Sake, from TWA. The Hot Sake is distilled from a choice selection of vintage Japan-made distortion boxes from a bygone era, and assembled from the best parts of each. This combination of circuits yields an extremely powerful dirt box that blurs the lines between overdrive and raw distortion. The Hot Sake also ensures that you'll always stay out front of the mix, with a dedicated Midrange control in addition to a standard Tone control, as well as an ultra-powerful Level control that delivers truckfuls of boost when maxed out. If this degree of frequency boosting isn't enough, the Hot Sake also offers a switchable low-frequency boost that kicks your amp in the teeth and pummels your speakers with low end. A tiny switch to the left of the footswitch toggles between two values of low boost capacitors, for subtle differences that toe the line between too much and just right. The gain range of the Hot Sake is truly dynamic, offering a broad pallete of dirt sounds. With the Drive rolled all the way back, the Hot Sake delivers light, crunchy blues tones with a distinctly amp-like character. As you start to roll the knob up, the saturation and crunch reaches a boiling point that ends in powerful amp detonation that borders on molten sludge. And just like all Totally Wycked Audio pedals, the Hot Sake is forged from the finest components and is built right here in the States.
