Super close up inside & out review of the Boss WAZA TAE Tube Amp Expander & Marshall 1959HW tube amplifier. Playing included with a Gibson Jimmy Page Les Paul, a Strat and Ibanez 7VWH. This inside and out review shows you what other reviewers never do, inside the unit, external controls and input output I/O, software, an score/opinion of the WAZA TAE. Audio: two full tracks - blues called 'corona blues' featuring the 1959HW amp, the WAZA TAE and a Gibson Les Paul Jimmy Page model from 1995. The second track played by Levi Mckenzie, is a well known piece using the same gear except an Ibanez 7VWH for the guitar. He excelled on this track for sure.

What are the benefits?

How well is the Roland Boss Tube Amp Expander made?
Does this setup sound good?
In this video I discuss the cost of the unit, as well as show a complete inside and out view of the Roland Boss TAE so that potential buyers can create an opinion based on facts about the quality of the unit. I show where this unit is made, the approvals, the components used for creating the effects and much more inside, like the power transformers.
I then show the I/O at the back of the unit and cover the features, as well as the front controls and discuss what they are all for. Then I show the downloadable software from Roland Boss, the installation problems, and the functionality. I show the editor and librarian software for the TAE. I then load an IR and show that in the librarian/editor.
Moving on through the video review, I discuss the optional floor pedal (the GA-FC) and the volume pedal options available from other companies. I conclude this part of the review with a summing up and a generalised score for the Boss WAZA tube amplifier expander. I then play a Malmsteen Fender Stratocaster in the studio through the equipment as a tone example, and later add a TS-808 hand wired boost pedal.
I demonstrate how a Jimmy Page Gibson Les Paul sounds through the system and then play a blues track in the studio called 'corona blues' - very apt for this time in 2020. Lastly, Levi Mckenzie plays through the same Boss system including the Marshall 1959 hand wired amp with an Ibanez 7VWH a really great rock track... and man how he has improved! But his tones are pretty awesome and it shows the TAE, the amplifier and Ibanez and his playing off incredibly well. Play it loud for a great experience :)
This is Part 3 in the series of Marshall tube amplifiers for guitarists showing some of the equipment that can make 1959HW amps usable in environments that don't tolerate high noise levels. The result was that this recording was completed at about a 10 Watts equivalent volume. The microphone used was an ASTON STEALTH and it captured the guitars perfectly. The cab was a Marshall 1960HW hand wired cab old style with 30 watt greenback speakers from Celestion - the perfect match!
In other parts of the series I include other Marshall amps such as the new Studio JCM800 STEALTH version that's released presently and I am waiting to arrive. I trust you like the whole series.
