Chicago Music Exchange Quick Riffs is a series of gear demos that allows you to quickly see and hear an instrument in action. Marc demonstrates a Duesenberg Starplayer Outlaw Bass through a Phil Jones BG300 Super Flightcase Bass Combo.

For a long time, a bass instrument’s “cool factor” didn’t much matter. More important was the sound, which had to be just right – and, if the one playing the bass was cool, then that was good enough. The Starplayer Bass now proves, however, that a low-tone instrument can have, in addition to great sound, an extremely cool look as well! This semi-acoustic bass, with its classic guitarmaking craftsmanship, arched top, arched bottom and bent sides, speaks to Duesenberg’s philosophy: to take the best design elements from the golden era of guitar-making and combine them with the most modern, functional equipment features of today – for example, Z-Tuners, fully adjustable saddles, precisely placed bass humbucker, and much more.
