My first amp project was a 5F1 / 5F2A Tweed style single ended amp. My tonal preferences have shifted away from the Tweed voicing with that very raw, mid forward tone towards a more mid scooped Blackface style sound. So I discovered a mod outlined by Rob Robinette (see link below) taken from a Framus Cobra to add a Mid Control. This allows me to go between the stock mid forward voicing to a mid scooped voicing with one control. In this video I demonstrate the effectiveness of that control.
So far in my subjective opinion this is a great mod! Simple, effective, and has a lower insertion loss compared to a full tone stack.
