Sometimes it can be nerve wracking and uncomfortable when playing with a new drummer. To take some of the initial stress off we wanted to create an exercise that might help guitarists ease into a "jam sesh".
One way to do that is to take a guitar part from another band you're in or that already exists and try it out with your new dummer. This will take some of the pressure off of having to make up a melody or a chord progression on the spot.
This video features founder Fabi Reyna and Tom Tom magazine LA Correspondent Kiran Gandhi. Fabi uses a a guitar riff from her band Reynosa to start of the session. It was shot in Fabi's backyard in Austin, TX during SXSW 2013.
