Today's pick is a fantastic 1960 Fender Stratocaster. A great player’s Strat, the body has been refinished in Shoreline Gold and mildly over-sanded. Neck has been oversprayed and refretted with some areas of wear on the fretboard filled in, and the small “Custom Contour” decal is a replacement. The corner of the Low E string saddle is also broken, but otherwise the guitar is original! The neck has a very nice feel with a gorgeous flame on the back and is much chunkier than your average 1960 slim neck profile. The pickups in this one have a healthy output and deliver clear, bell-like tone with a nice thickness behind the sound - a perfect instrument to pair up with our amp for the day: the Ceriatone Overtone SSS 50, plugged into a Port City 2X12 OS Vertical Wave Cabinet. An incredible clone of the infamous Dumble Steel String Singer, this amp is in excellent condition; working perfectly and very clean cosmetically. This amp has the classic Dumble tone with some handy modern features including bias check points, half power switch and a built-in effects loops. We put all of this into Ian Crawford's hands after James gives the run-down on the details!
