Les Paul vs Telecaster With Humbuckers | Can You Tell the Difference?

When it comes down to it, pickups make the most significant difference in the tone of the guitar. So, won't a Fender Telecaster HH (with two Humbuckers) sound the same as a Gibson or Epiphone Les Paul which has two humbucker pickups too?

In this video, I make a direct comparison with an Epiphone Les Paul Standard to a Mexican Fender Telecaster HH. I play roughly the same thing through a Fender Bassbreaker on both the Les Paul and Telecaster HH back to back. Rhythm, Picking, Lead and Crunch.

Can you tell the difference in the sound between these two guitars or is the only difference the feel? For sure they play different, but can you tell the difference in tone?
