… As we mentioned in Part 1 … This awesome solo comes from great video posted by Marty Schwartz. They were jamming over the tune called Funk #49 and some of the Licks that Phil-X ripped out in this solo were just awesome. Phil’s timing and phrasing is something to really try and lock into.

Phil-X mixes so many of his influences into everything he plays … from Jimmy Page, Van Halen, Randy Rhoads … you can even hear some Zakk Wylde, Paul Gilbert, Steve Vai and Nuno Bettencourt. Some of those guys might not be direct influences, but you can definitely hear some similarities … even if it’s only the level of aggression they share.
