We caught up with Urs Heckmann from U-He at Machina Bristronica 2024, where he shared developments in their modular synth lineup. U-He was in the process of completing a modular synth voice with several modules in action, including the *CVlization* as an oscillator and mixer. Central to the showcase was the *Wiretap* module, which transforms sequences into rhythms. Urs revealed that Wiretap was finally shipping to vendors after a lengthy development period.

The lineup also included the *Centurion* module, a two-way six-in-two scan mixer, and a yet-to-be-named filter module. Urs explained that the synthesis journey often begins with CVlization's built-in quantizer, ensuring harmonious oscillations. He noted the blend of analog and digital elements in their designs, acknowledging challenges posed by digital components. Urs concluded by noting how concepts occasionally migrate from their flagship software into the modular realm, exemplified by the Wiretap's origins in the Hive software.
