Electro-Harmonix pioneered the creative design of FX pedals from the Big Muff and Electric Mistress to today's 9-Series. We met with founder Mike Mathews at EHX HQ in Long Island City where we toured the factory floor and learned the story behind what goes into designing a great stompbox. Graphic designer Anthony Rubolotta walked us through his process of creating the visual aesthetic for the 9-Series pedals using the Mel-9 as an example.
