Redsound are a progressive Italian company producing a wide range of products including many specifically aimed at the new generation of guitarists, many of whom are choosing to use a modeller as their preferred platform. They make some killer FRFR cabs (I've been loving the RK8) and now they're producing power amps for those who would rather feed their modeller of choice into a traditional guitar cab. There are currently two models up for grabs, the mono RPA 600x and stereo RPA 300x. Both are 1U configurations with analog preamps, high quality connectors, tons of volume on tap and a relatively light weight at under 4kgs. Mainly, however, they sound great. And that's really what we want. I was put off a little when I first tried a power amp/cab combo around 10 years ago because the sound did not cut it for me for very long and I ended up flipping that power amp and moving on to FRFR solutions. But Redsound have well and truly restored my faith and enthusiasm for such configurations with their RPA amps. Great stuff.
