The Hagen is not a cheap amplifier so you could expect a professional amplifier that can do it's job for years to come and with USA prices of $4000 and UK pricing of £2060 this should be a rolls Royce quality amp - but is it? It could be a very expensive gamble if this amp is not what you thought it was. The amp under review is a UK specified amplifier.
The Hagen is a 4 channel amplifier made in Germany by Peter Diezel who has been making guitar amps for decades so he should have some idea by now; the Hagen has been around for just a couple of years so it's a good representation of a Diezel amp for sure and what you get for your money. I am assured by the previous owner that this is exactly how the amp came to him (he used it as a backup amp and it was turned on about four or five times only from new).
There's a full EQ for each channel, 3 loops, MIDI control and a host of other features. I take this amp apart, examine its design and quality, rebuild it and show it being played in a number of different styles - you might be surprised how this amp sounds.
