http://www.guitarBreakdown.com - Allen Hinds sits down with GuitarBreakdown and talks all things tone. This is just a short sample clip of Allen talking about some of the gear he uses to get his amazing tone.

As part of our 9 Volume Lesson Package with Allen we thought it would only be proper to end with a discussion about Gear and Equipment. Allen Hinds is well known for many things … smooth Legato, soulful Phrasing, his years of teaching at Musicians Institute and of course his amazing Tone. Now most everyone knows that a lot of his tone comes from his fingers, his touch and his many years of experience playing guitar. But even Allen will say … his gear is an essential part of acquiring the Tone he needs to inspire his playing.

In Volume 9 (Gear and Equipment) of our 9 Volume Masterclass series … Allen walks thru his current set up. From Pedals to Amps to Guitars. He talks about why he chooses the gear that he does and how he uses each piece of gear to get different tones. Allen walks thru his signal chain on his pedal board and talks about what he likes about each pedal.

This is a great video filled with insight on Tone Sculpting Tools from one of the most Tone conscious players.

In this short clip … Allen talks a bit about his RedPlate Amp. This is one of his more recent pieces of gear that he has acquired. But as Allen mentions in this video … it’s had a pretty profound change on the way he plays as of late. For the first time in many years he is now using Amp distortion a lot of the time as opposed to getting his overdrive from Pedals. He still has a solid pedal board filled with great overdrive and boost pedals … but now he has added the option of Amp distortion to his arsenal.
