So we're almost at the end of this Lesson Series … just two more lessons to go! Hopefully you've been enjoying exploring some of the unique and expressive ways the guitar allows us to make sweet - sweet music.
In this Lesson we'll start by taking a look at a bending technique that Guthrie Govan has been known to do. This technique consists of playing a single note then grabbing a note below that pitch and bending back up to that first pitch that was originally played. Now this can be used in many ways … but it definitely sounds super cool when used in combination with arpeggios.

Next up in this Lesson we breakdown one of my favorite Licks from the great Warren Demartini. This concept is just a really slick way of mixing bends with slides. In this example we play it in a D dominant sound but we experiment with some of the notes to get different flavors.
And the final idea we examine in this lesson is based on some bending techniques used by Jason Becker and Marty Friedman. This concept will really open up your mind and allow you to use every note on the fretboard without worrying about hitting a wrong note.
