Source Audio's two man engineering team of Bob Chidlaw and Jesse Remignanti talk about the guitar and bass versions of Soundblox Multiwave Distortion. Bob and Jesse discuss the intricacies of multi band processing, foldback distortion, and octave fuzz.
In the world of guitar distortion where vintage gear rules, the Multiwave Distortion dares to be different, taking guitar fuzz to cosmic extremes. The effect pedals offers 23 boldly anti-retro tones, from pristine yet powerful distortions to mega-saturated synthesizer-like fuzz. The pedal is available in four configurations: Soundblox Multiwave (Guitar) Distortion, Soundblox Multiwave Bass Distortion, Soundblox Pro Multiwave (Guitar) Distortion, and Soundblox Pro Multiwave Bass Distortion. All four share the same distortion effects, but the bass versions are voiced exclusively to accommodate the frequency range of the bass guitar. The Pro versions of the pedal feature 6 user presets, a 7-band EQ, and a MIDI input.
Current Multiwave users include:
Adrian Belew (King Crimson, Talking Heads, Frank Zappa)
Mike Gordon (Phish)
Earl Slick (The New York Dolls, David Bowie, John Lennon)
Victor Wooten (The Flecktones)
Reeves Gabrels (David Bowie)
Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree)
