The Boss EQ-200 is a graphic equalizer pedal suitable for most musicians, but guitarist, bassist & others could benefit from. It's a compact and unique stomp box that offers a 10 band sweep over x 2 that can hone your exact tone and make your 'sound' unique to you, in ways that some of the best guitarists in the world always have.
Whether you're recording in a studio, playing live, or just practicing the Boss EQ-200 can create tones that will inspire any player with in built features like multi memory capability for storing your presets, single or dual operation with parallel or series abilities that many pedals don't have, and it can even operate on battery power for hours on end!
There is also MIDI in and out so that you could effectively control the EQ tones of your guitar and/or amplifier in ways that most users otherwise cannot, and the simplicity of the Roland Boss EQ-200 unit even as an effect cannot be ruled out.
The Boss EQ-200 is made internally very well and I discuss (and show) some of the build quality and components in depth like other reviewers never do, so that you can see for yourself just how well made this Roland Boss pedal really is.
And I also show a Boss GE-7 EQ pedal that costs substantially less and in the tone section show a comparison between a number of different tones that you might easily set up, as well as the Boss GE-7 as an alternative to the EQ-200 pedal, bearing in mind the cost differences between the two devices.
The memory feature on the Roland Boss EQ-200 I found to be very useful, how you can store many presets and recall four of them at the press of a button. But I was a little less impressed that while using the memory button that I had to 'remember' the effect from my memory as to exactly which one it was.
The EQ-200 is a great choice for musicians who are looking for a single, all-in-one solution for their unique and custom tones in a graphic equalizer. Whether you're practicing at home, rehearsing with your band, or performing in front of a live audience, this pedal will help to give you the sound you need. And linked to the whole Boss 200 series you can create an exceptional pedal board that could do everything you need.
In terms of tone quality, the boss EQ-200 sounded good, but so does the GE-7, the substantially cheaper option. The Boss EQ-200 is a great choice for those who are looking for a portable, easy-to-use, and high-quality EQ solution that could literally change your tones to those of a world class player.
In conclusion, the Boss EQ-200 is a useful tool for every guitarist out there. Its got a very compact size, various options onboard, and highest quality tones make it a good choice for players of any skill level.
If you already have a 'perfect' tone by using exceptional guitar, bass or other instrument and amplifier then the draw might be less to buy this pedal, but it certainly is best to not ignore a pedal like this or the lower cost GE-7 from Roland Boss that could do so much for so little.
This eq 200 Boss pedal was purchased by me at full retail price and this video is entirely unsponsored in any way. This is a real and genuine closeup review inside and out of the EQ-200 and my recent review of the IR-200 from Boss is here: https://youtu.be/WFTS127zWWg
