We’ve just received the sad news that bass legend and friend of Rotosound, Mo Foster, has passed away. One of the most highly-respected session musicians, Mo played bass on recordings by artists as varied as Jeff Beck, Phil Collins, Peter Green, Cher, and Brian May, as well as shared stages with Eric Clapton, Sting, Dr John, Van Morrison, and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, among many others.
Mo was using our strings from the seventies and started working closely with Rotosound back in the nineties. Our chairman, Jason, recalls that he always had a great sense of humour. In 2013 Mo presented a series of demo videos for Rotosound's bass range, which are some of our channel's most-watched videos.
For a taster of Mo’s awesome playing check out his fretless bass solo on Jeff Beck’s "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" Live at the Greek Theatre 1980 or any of the many live videos from his most recent solo work, Mo Foster & Friends.
