Disaster Area Designs DMC-6D Expression Input Tutorial
The DMC-6D is designed to control Ableton Live or other DAW software. The DMC-6D features two expression pedal inputs, compatible with many different types of expression pedal. We're using two Roland EV-5 pedals in this video, but the DMC works with the Boss FV500L, the Ernie Ball VPJr25k (use a stereo Y cable for those,) the Mission EP-1, and many others.
The expression pedals give you real-time control over anything that can be controlled by MIDI, such as the track faders, sends, returns, tempo, panning, etc.
To configure the expression inputs, hold the upper-right button on the DMC at start to enter SETUP mode. Press the lower left button to change Expression A, or the lower middle button to change Expression B. Use the top and bottom right buttons to change the values for each pedal input.
Each pedal may send MIDI CC 1-127, or set to "OFF" to disable that input. Both pedals can send the same CC message if desired, but you might experience a "jump" in values when you adjust first one pedal and then the other. If you're not using any pedals, set the inputs to OFF.
Press-hold the upper middle button to save. The controller will remember the setting and won't need to be set up again unless you decide to change the configuration.

Works with any DAW or other software that accepts MIDI note on control for remote operation, including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, MainStage, Pro Tools, etc.
