Disaster Area Designs DMC-6D Expression Input Tutorial
The DMC-6D is designed to control Ableton Live or other DAW software. The DMC-6D features a TRS / stereo footswitch input jack. The extender switches allow for extra control possibilities, and let you tailor the DMC-6D controller to your playing and looping style.
To configure the extender switches, hold the upper-right button on the DMC at start to enter SETUP mode. Press the top center button to select the "S," or switch configuration. Use the top and bottom right buttons to change the values for each pedal input.
"A" configures the controller to send two dedicated MIDI notes for the extender switches (note #126 and #127.)
"B" configures the extender for bank up & bank down on the DMC.
"C" configures the DMC for "8-button mode," so that the notes on the controller are grouped in 15 banks of 8 instead of 20 * 6. In this mode, the extender switch sends the "G" and "H" button command per bank.
Press-hold the upper middle button to save. The controller will remember the setting and won't need to be set up again unless you decide to change the configuration.
