A Gibson Les Paul SG from 1961 is compared to a 2013 Gibson Les Paul SG Aged. The pickups in the ´61 are replace with patent no pickups. The amp is an ´80 Marshall 2104 with 1972 Celestion G12H-30 (55Hz) Greenbacks and a Marshall 1933 Extension cab with a 1970 Celestion G12M-25 (75Hz) Pre Rola Greenback. One G12H and one G12M are miced using two 1960s BeyerDynamic M160s (M200s). The sound interface is an Apogee Duet and the DAW is an Ipad with Cubasis. Recorded dry. The rhythm guitar utilizes only the G12M and the solo guitar uses both cabs/elements. This obviously gave a nasty phase cancellation, so I shifted the G12H track by a ~1/150 note, and voila, the cancellation was gone.
Cheers! Johan
