Cindy Blackman Satana was born in 1959 and is an accomplished American jazz and rock drummer.

Commonly known as Cindy Blackman, she is best known for recording work and tours with the singer/songwriter, Lenny Kravitz. Blackman has also recorded a range of jazz albums under her own name, as well as performing with several artists including Pharoah Sanders, Sonny Simmons, Ron Carter, Sam Rivers, Cassandra Wilson, Angela Bofill, Buckethead, Bill Laswell and Joe Henderson.
