At the end of 2023, MOOER released its critically acclaimed M800 guitar, a modern take on an electric guitar, incorporating various futuristic features into its circuitry. Now, the company has taken its Intelligent Modern series further, releasing the new M810, an updated version of the M800 that focuses on providing an augmented design and aesthetic.
Like the M800, the M810 is powered by MOOER's impressive G100 Intelligent Processing System, leaving guitarists with 128 effects at their fingertips. These tonal settings can be edited and loaded onto the guitar through the GTRS mobile app via Bluetooth and can then be switched between in real-time using the guitar’s LED-colored ‘Super Knob,’ preventing the need for external effect pedals.
Along with these effects and amp sims, the GTRS app also provides 40 drum tracks, ten metronomes, and an 80-second looper, all of which contribute to the guitar’s augmented performance. The guitar is also compatible with GTRSPTNR GWF4 Wireless Footswitch, which can either be mapped to the previously mentioned functions or to four additional slots for dynamic preset selection.
However, the M810 stands out significantly from the M800 when it comes to its design. Firstly, unlike the M800, the M810 features a 5-piece Satin-finished Roasted Flame Maple and Rosewood neck, providing a far more stable and less malleable structure, augmented by its bone nut and Dual Action Steel truss rod. The original Alder Body has also been enhanced with a Poplar Burl Top, resulting in a lighter body, a more balanced resonance, and a more polished aesthetic.
The resonant result from this combination of Maple, Rosewood, Alder, and Poplar is impressive, enhanced beautifully by the M810’s GTRS HMT-1N neck pickup and the GTRS HMT-1B bridge pickup. Thanks to its black GTRS PW 2 Point Bridge, the guitar also offers further tuning stability and tremolo practicality, a significant improvement over the M800's original GTRS M1 Bridge.
While both guitars are finished with High Gloss, the M810 comes in a larger variety of ‘burst’ colors: Natural, Green, Purple, and Blue Burst. The M810 fretboard is also lined with a gorgeous Abalone Shell Inlay, adding a colorful flash that many will favor over the M800’s more minimalistic White shell Dot inlay.
Overall, MOOER has, once again, ensured that the M810’s modern fittings don’t overshadow its classic playing style; classic guitar features, such as a three-way pickup switch, tone and volume knobs, and a guitar strap pin, can still be found on this modern design. It’s fantastic to see the M-Series intelligent guitars evolving, and thanks to MOOER’s hard work on the M810’s design, they’ve never looked more impressive.
