Meet Providence Guitars, a luthier building unique designs that bring together the best – and sometimes contrasting – parts of classic guitars. Started in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, Providence Guitars is run by Kevin Williams, who cut his teeth working for the celebrated Monty's Guitars; and Reuben Gotto, who has worked as a touring backline tech for artists such as Robert Plant, Foals, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Pixies, Alt-J, Lianne La Havas, Nile Rodgers, and many more.
The music in this film was recorded with instruments built by Providence Guitars and strung with Rotosound Roto electric guitar strings.
Each episode of Builders Brew takes a behind-the-scenes look at the workshops and working practices of luthiers; we explore why they do what they do; and we find out why Rotosound strings are the choice of expert instrument makers.
