Over the last several months, Novo has been building beautiful, special-edition guitars that represent entirely new takes on some of the brand's beloved models and designs. These guitars have then been available in super limited numbers in their official Reverb shop. This month, we're excited to debut their newest offering: the Novo Idris RS.
This special-edition model was initially conceived with a goldfoil pickup in the neck position and a lapsteel guitar pickup in the bridge position. But the design was changed to double goldfoils when the feedback from the lapsteel pickup proved to be too much. That design pivot meant that the large cavity that was routed into the guitar body for the lapsteel had to be mostly covered, which turned into a cool design feature of this model, unique from other Novo models in their standard lines.
