Vernon Reid is best known as the guitarist for Living Colour, but his resume is as interesting as his guitar playing. He's recorded with other unique guitar legends, including Bill Frisell and Ronald Shannon Jackson, and produced several James "Blood" Ulmer albums. Across his four-decade career, Reid has shared session and stage time with an array of artists such as The Roots, Mick Jagger, Santana, Public Enemy, Jack Bruce, and Mariah Carey. For his episode of EQD at Home, shot and directed by his daughter Idea Viola Reid, the versatile guitarist shows us his digital and analog hybrid pedalboard. Watch as he uses his Line 6 Helix and several EQD stompboxes, including the Data Corrupter, and Aqueduct the "secret weapon" to his vibrato. Reid also professes his affection for the "freaky" reverb and modulation of the Astral Destiny. There are also pedals by Alexander, Chase Bliss, Eventide, and Red Panda and Reid keeps to all running smoothly with the EQD Swiss Things. Dig his cool jazzy Data Corrupter-laced solo over a walking jazz rhythm and, check out how many weird guitars this legend has in his house!
