The 2017 High Performance 735 R is a powerhouse square-shoulder rosewood guitar with slim body depth, generation cutaway and rosewood body. Handcrafted with the same time-tested build techniques as Gibson's most iconic models, each Gibson Acoustic is full of expression, character and exquisite beauty. The compact body design, built with rosewood back and sides, allows for an unsurpassed balance of lows, mids and highs, with equal response to each note. A wide range of sound is produced from the solid Sitka spruce top, built with hand scalloped, arched bracing, focusing the sound to the center of the guitar top for superior tone.

It is because of this unique build technique of a slightly domed top— a feature all Gibson Acoustics have— that allows for a slimmed-down body depth that still delivers an incredible sounding acoustic guitar with uncompromised tone.

The Advanced Response Neck profile is carved into the 735 R’s mahogany neck fitted with a dense Richlite fingerboard. A sleek inlay package was created, a modern reference to the historical Gibson parallelogram inlay design. This single parallelogram design is hand inlaid in mother-of-pearl, into the newly designed flatter radius Richlite fingerboard, for a distinctive and modern look and feel.

The 2017 HP 735 R is finished with elegant Gibson appointments, including a mother-of-pearl block Gibson logo inlaid on the headstock, classic mini nickel Grover tuners, superior Tusq nut and saddle, Richlite bridge and fingerboard, and single parallelogram mother-of-pearl position markers.
