Nirvana is the quintessential sound and feeling of 90s grunge. Kurt Cobain and the band gave voice to the frustration and disillusion of an entire generation of teens and young adults. Maybe more than the lyrics, the distorted, huge, aggressive tones embodied these emotions. We all know Kurt used a BOSS DS-1, and people have been gear chasing his tone by sleuthing pictures, listening to interviews, and just about everything else, but there's more to Nirvana's sound then a specific set of pedals.
