This month I'd like to introduce to you a few scales that originate from different parts of the world, specifically from the eastern hemisphere, and have been incorporated into the sound of heavy metal. We'll begin by looking at three types of scales that work well within the context of metal and are rooted in Japanese and Arabian music.
