--Here are some notes from Todd, owner and builder at Foxpedal
1. The Wrath uses a genuine new-old-stock (NOS) LM308 opamp, same as the original sought after RAT pedals of the 1980's. The slow "slew rate" of these chips are what set them apart and give it that unique RAT sound.
2. The clipping switch allows you to select between original RAT clipping (left) (silicone diode) to Red LED Clipping (right). The Red LEDs give the distortiona more open, brighter glassy sound, while kicking the gain up. This is probably my favorite mod to this circuit.
3. The Reutz mod, or the "Sweep" feature is what really gives this pedal some flexibility. It adjusts the clipping frequency of the gain stage. The original rat was setup such that frequencies above 1540Hz would receive a lot more gain than lower frequencies. So it basically had a huge amount of treble boost. The Sweep knob basically allows you to flatten the gain response so that all frequencies are more affected by the gain stage, giving you more bass boost and clipping at more frequencies across the spectrum. The mod is most notable at lower gain settings, but affects the circuit at all gain settings.
4. Not unique to the wrath, but like all RAT type pedals, the Wrath is a high gain distortion monster, but it can also do pretty great warm overdrive tones at lower gain settings.
