WOW! Take a look at this guitar! The Spalted Maple top on this Fender® Custom Shop Artisan Spalted Maple Stratocaster is spectacular!

Spalted wood has streaky deposits in the wood that create incredibly unique patterns. And I can tell you up close this top is amazing. The back is roasted Alder that helps mellow out the extra treble you get from the maple top.

The hand wound early 60's pickups are incredibly clean. The bridge pickup is crisp with very little grit. Slightly bright on the treble side. The neck pickup is remarkable. Well balanced with no muddiness at all. The 2 and 4 positions have a surprisingly mild quack.

The roasted AAA Birdseye Maple neck features 63 C Shape, African Blackwood finger board, 9.5" to 12" compound radius and 6105 frets. The shape is wonderful with just the right amount thickness (.810") at the first fret that thickens up nicely as you go up the neck. A beautiful playing neck.
