"Lexington to Birmingham" demonstrates Pedaltrain's Daylight Overdrive pedal. The purpose of this track is to highlight Daylight's expressive overdrive, tone, and its sound when recording direct (without an amp).
Track Rundown:
1) Daylight enters the track at the top with a light overdrive sound and slight roll off on the tone control.
2) The B section starts at 25 seconds, and is recorded direct, without an amp. Level and Tone controls are straight up.
3) The back half of the track has a boost on the drive and more tone roll-off.
About Pedaltrain's new pedals:
“Daylight” is a symmetrical overdrive, on the brighter side (hence the name). It is a pleasantly dynamic, musical, and focused. Notice that as you back off the guitar’s volume pot the pedal cleans up. “Nightlight” is on the darker side, asymmetrical, a more full-bodied, beefier, distortion sound. Again, this pedal is very dynamic and can play off of your guitar’s volume. The pedals can stand alone or work together, sort of like an overlapping pedal Venn diagram. We worked hard to make sure the sounds were musical and usable through the entire sweep of the controls.
