Guitar tab (short for tablature) has six lines—one for each string on the guitar. Numbers are placed on those lines to represent which fret to play. This is a quick and easy way to read and write down melodies, chords, strumming patterns, and songs. In this video, guitarist Nicholas Veinoglou demonstrates how to read and play a short melody using guitar tab.
