At this year's ADC, we caught up with Tom from JUCE to learn more about their development platform. Its powering many of the plug-ins we see developed today. JUCE, written in C++, serves as an abstraction layer across multiple platforms such as iOS and macOS, Windows and Linux, allowing developers to focus on creating audio applications without worrying about platform-specific issues. It can support multiple plugin formats like VST3, AU, and AAX with a single codebase.
Tom explained how JUCE reduces the complications of developing across multiple systems, which often entail maintaining 60-70 different configurations
