Here's an overdrive with a refreshing point of difference. The Small Speaker Overdrive aims to turn the natural tone of any amp into one that resembles the unique midrange focus of a small 'tweed' combo along the lines of the early Fender Champ. Those amps may not have spoken loudly when put up against their bigger siblings in 'the room', but when mic'd and recorded, they held their own. Most of the classic rock greats have used one on one hit or another - they are a proven force. David Greeves of Cambridge, UK, a man with a distinguished career in our industry as a major writer/editor of many of the world's great audio and guitar magazines, is now in the pedal game. And he's offering something new. The Small Speaker Overdrive joins the already lauded Design-A-Drive in the growing Great Eastern Fx catalogue and I can't wait to see what's next. In the meantime, small is good...
