The Fender Vintera II ’70s Telecaster Deluxe celebrates the hip, musically diverse culture of the Me Generation with two ’70s wide-range humbuckers, an oversized headstock and vintage-style synchronized tremolo. Originally built when Fender was owned by CBS (1965-1985), the ’70s Telecaster Deluxe delivers a meaty spank that’s the sound of an era.
“The immediate thing that jumps out to me about the ’70s Telecaster Deluxe is its warmth,” says “Freaky Rob” Gueringer, who has performed with artists such as Cardi B, Diddy, Megan Thee Stallion and Eminem. “I’m very heavy on warm tones, but I don’t like a guitar to be too muddy or too bright. The neck pickup position of this guitar is a good sweet spot, but my favorite is the middle position, because it puts me into a very cool funky, R&B, pop and rock vibe.”
The Vintera II ’70s Telecaster Deluxe features an alder body, U-shaped maple neck, maple fingerboard and 21 vintage-tall frets. It’s also one of Fender vice president of products Max Gutnik’s favorite Vintera II models: “Fender guitars from that era had a unique sound, and those tones had a big influence on music at the time.”
