I'm strangely attracted to extended range instruments. Maybe it's like the mountain - it's there so I want to climb it. You know? So when I saw this delightful behemoth pop up in a feed I took notice with a side of lust and had to get hold of one to try. I wasn't disappointed. I've admired Animals as Leaders from afar for some time now; Tosin Abasi has always made my jaw drop and lately Javier Reyes with his crazy mathematical syncopation and beautiful chordal playing has been holding my attention too. I can't pretend to have their skills but I love what they do and I love this JRV-8 model that Javier and ESP have unleashed upon us. I think it's a keeper. Apologies to those who may have wanted me to cover AAL stuff - I just don't have it in me. Loving this guitar though!
