Zildjian has been making Paper Thin cymbals since the 1950s and, thanks to new advancements and innovations from their R&D team, they recently introduced five Paper Thin Crashes to the legendary K Family, available as 18", 19", 20", 21" or 22" cymbals. These impressive new crashes meld the unique qualities drummers love about Paper Thin with the characteristics unique to larger cymbal sizes.
We invited drummer and composer Kaz Rodriguez to dig into the K Paper Thin family with his full drum kit, which features a number of other Zildjian cymbals, demonstrating the tonal qualities of the 19" Paper Thin crash, placed on the left side of the kit, and the 22" Paper Thin crash, which he'll use as both a crash and a ride on the right side of his kit.
