The new MXR Joshua Ambient Echo captures the sound and feel of the classic digital studio rack delays used by guitarists such as Eddie Van Halen and the Edge throughout the '80s. This versatile and highly customizable delay setup offers control over not only the tempo and number of repeats (Delay and Regen controls) but also their rhythm, thanks to handy sub-division control.
“This is a great pedal if you’re an expert at delay or even if you’re a total novice because it does so many different things,” says Mark Letteiri, guitarist of the band Snarky Puppy. “It’s really easy to get a great sound out of it and it’s really easy to dial in some extravagant sounds. It’s got loads of features; I particularly love the modulation feature as well as this Echo 2 button that’s going to add that second echo of the subdivision of your choice.”
The Joshua Ambient Echo isn't just a classic stereo delay. The Voice control allows you to craft ethereal soundscapes with a custom mix of -1 sub octave, +1 octave up and +2 octave up signals. Whether you’re into '80s rock, funky soul or atmospheric ambience, the Joshua will take your sound any place it needs to go.
