Taylor has applied its latest tone-enhancing design strokes
to the maple 600 Series guitars. The result is a transformation of
maple’s historically bright tone profile into a richer, warmer,
more complex voice. Players can expect a more musical,
more versatile guitar experience.
Torrefied Spruce Tops
A special roasting technique accelerates the aging process, yielding the rich and responsive tonal character of an older guitar. The technique gives the tops a slightly
darker complexion that resembles cedar.
Custom Voicing
The bracing and wood thicknesses are optimized for each shape and for maple’s unique properties to boost the warmth and sustain.
Tone-Enhancing Protein Glue
Used with the bracing and bridge, the glue’s properties improve the tonal transfer through the top and back.
Thin Finish
Taylor’s ultra-thin 3.5-mil gloss finish minimizes damping and enhances the responsiveness and volume.
Hand-Rubbed Stain
The “Brown Sugar” color gives the figured maple a deep, vintage look without adding any material thickness.
New Appointments
Refined details include grained ivoroid Wings inlays, an inlaid ebony backstrap, ebony binding, and a striped ebony pickguard.
Expression System® 2
Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle piezo pickup captures maple’s rich new voice in a more linear and dynamic way.
